Google Sheets Help
How to set up and use the XO Report add-on for Google Sheets. The rest of the documentation describes the Excel add-in.
Install
The XO Report Google Sheets add-on is coming soon to the Google Workspace Marketplace.
You will install it from the Marketplace. Here is how it works.
Get started
1. Open the sidebar
Open a spreadsheet, then choose Extensions > XO Report > Open Sidebar.
2. Connect Xero
Click Connect to Xero, sign in on Xero's page and choose the organization to share.
3. Start your free trial
If the sidebar shows Start Free Trial, click it. The 14-day trial needs no credit card.
4. Insert a table or report
In the Tables tab, choose a report or list, pick the organization and the dates, and click Insert. XO Report writes it into a new sheet.
5. Refresh
Open the Manage tab to see your tables. Click the refresh icon next to a table to reload it from Xero, or use Refresh All Tables.
What you can insert
- Reports: Profit & Loss (with period comparison), Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, Aged Receivables and Aged Payables by Contact, Bank Summary, Executive Summary, Budget Summary
- Transactions: Invoices, Bills, Payments, Credit Notes
- Lists: Chart of Accounts, Contacts, Items, Tracking Categories, Tax Rates, Currencies, Organizations
The Google Sheets add-on has no custom formulas; formulas such as =XO.BALANCE are Excel only. Bank Transactions and the all-contacts aged reports are also Excel only.
Common issues
XO Report is not in the Extensions menu
Choose Extensions > Add-ons > Manage add-ons, find XO Report, open its Options menu and choose Use in this document. Then reload the spreadsheet.
The sidebar says Google account access is unavailable
This happens when the browser is signed in to more than one Google account. Open the spreadsheet in a browser profile signed in to just one Google account, then reopen XO Report. Your spreadsheet data is kept.
Session expired, or a refresh asks you to reconnect
Open the sidebar and reconnect the organization in Settings, then refresh again.
Trial ended or subscription required
Subscribe from the XO Report sidebar to keep refreshing. Plans and prices are on the pricing page.
